Chat Modes — Address System

The Address System controls how the AI Game Master addresses the player during conversations.

Three modes available via the toggle at the bottom of the chat:

Mode Behavior
Scene (default) Omniscient third-person narrator. The GM describes the world without directly addressing the player.
Party Multi-character group focus. Each party member speaks in their distinct voice, matching their personality traits. Responses include **Name**: dialogue formatting.
GM Direct second-person address. The GM speaks to you as a human Game Master would.

The /impersonate [direction] slash command generates an in-character message as your player persona, based on recent chat context and your character sheet traits. The generated text appears in the input field for editing — never auto-sent.

Enable the 🎭 Impersonate toggle in chat settings to show a quick button next to the input. Clicking it generates a context-only draft (“what would my character do?”).

If no active persona is set, a toast reminds you to complete your Character Sheet first.
